No. 4

hm...book four? I'm kinda drawn a blank here. Have I mentioned Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief? I haven't? Well there we go. Now, I know that there's a movie and to be honest, that and some persistent fan-art caused me to read the books. And so far, (I’m about to read the second) they're really good! It focuses from Perseus Jackson's, half god, half mortal, perspective. Now when I say god i mean the Greek god's and goddesses’, such as Zeus, Athena, Hermes, you get the point. When such gods have affairs with mortals, the child born is dubbed a demi-god. All these demi-gods go to Camp Half-Blood for training and protection against various monsters. I feel like I’m giving too much away, but when something vital is stolen from Mount Olympus, a war begins to brew amongst the gods and it's up to Percy to stop it. I would read it if I were you. Another book that ties with real life so easily it's hard to believe that that dyslexic kid who can't stop tapping his foot in History isn't really the son the Ares himself.

No. 3

Book no. 3 is up!! It is Thirteen Reasons Why. I read it over the summer and fell in love with it. Guys, I’m sorry if I’m running off on a girly note, but let's be serious. I'm a girl and I’m not gonna read a war book unless you tell me to. Anyways, Thirteen Reasons why is based from a guy named Clay's perspective. At the least, his life has been a little different since his crush, Hannah Baker, committed suicide. But she didn't leave without leaving something behind. Hannah left 13 tapes, each a person. A reason why she committed suicide. Don't think this is just some sad little book. It's written in a way where you question your own actions to other people. You finish, knowing you don't want to be someone's reason why. I book that you can't stop reading. Each reason is connected to the next, making a confusing maze that is at the same time understandable. I highly recommend this book.

No. 2

Okay, so i usually don't write posts this close together, but right now it's for a grade. So book no. 2 is up. It would be........THE HUNGER GAMES! And what a book it is. It also is in a series. Again, i will try not to spoil to book. Basically, it's set in the future; I’m not sure how many years. North America has been split into 12 districts. Before, there were 13. That was before the rebellion. The rebellion against the capitol. They crushed District 13 and, to teach the districts not to rebel, created the Hunger Games. Two people are chosen from each district to compete. Only one person survives. It's mind-twisting and sometimes it's hard to believe that it's not real. It's way up there in my favorites. Here, i feel compelled to tell you that you won't need to read the second to be hooked. You won't even have to finish the first. As always, if you read it and like it, comment about it so i know I’m not preaching to deaf ears. If you have a book you want me to read/blog about, leave a comment for me.

Good Book. No. 1

Well, it's my first blog and right now I’m trying to give teens a good reading list. What I want to start out with is Maximum Ride. One of my favorite series of all time, most definitely. What could it ever be about that makes it so good you ask? Well I can't say too much on risk of ruining the book. Long story short, there are 6 avian-human hybrids. Basically meaning they're part bird. No, that does not mean they have the beak of Toucan Sam and the tail of a peacock. They're normal teens (well, Max, Iggy, and Fang are) but one thing sets them apart from all the normal, boring people. They have wings. And they have special abilities developing every day! But people are not a fan of "freaks" as they call them. Tons of people are out to get them, making it a life of running away. Fight or Flight. Better than being locked up in a zoo, from their perspective. Max is the leader. The glue that holds them all together. And the book is narrated by her, with small bits from other characters. It's definitely a book of non-stop action that will keep you trying to guess the end. If you read the first book and don't like it, i encourage you to keep reading. It's not most cases where the sequel is better than the first. (Lion King 2! :D) If you read the books (and enjoy them) please comment on the post so i know I’m not speaking to deaf ears. Also, if you have a book you want me to check out, just leave a comment!
